The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art hosts an intimate, exclusive luncheon at their stunning site. Set amid sweeping views of the flat plains and farmland of California’s Central Valley, the Museum is quintessentially of its place and time: an integration of the indoors and outdoors and a place where education is paramount. The Museum’s home is at UC Davis, an institution that boasts one of the world’s premier wine programs, a commitment to the arts and sciences, and a deep connection to Napa Valley.
Guests at today’s luncheon will be treated to a tour of the Museum‘s outstanding permanent exhibition, led by Founding Director Rachel Teagle. Then renowned artist Kathy Butterly will guide attendees through ColorForm, a retrospective exhibition charting her brilliant career. After the tour, guests will enjoy a gourmet lunch, a special musical performance, and exceptional wines from some of Napa Valley’s famed Davis alumni vintners.
Manetti Shrem Museum of Art
With the same passion for experimentation that first brought prominence to the arts at UC Davis, the Manetti Shrem Museum cultivates transformational art experiences to inspire new thinking and the open exchange of ideas. Serving both the public and our university community with a dynamic artistic program, the museum: presents exhibitions and events that advance students’ understanding of their place in the world; connects to faculty teaching and research; and creates a lively forum for community engagement and creative practice.
