Bouchaine Young Artists Series: Sheku Kanneh-Mason, cello, and Isata Kanneh-Mason, piano Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center

The brilliant British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, winner of the 2016 BBC Young Musician of the Year Award, makes his Bay Area debut in a recital accompanied by his sister, the equally celebrated pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason. The young cellist drew raves performing at the 2018 royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Also in 2018, Decca released his acclaimed debut album, Inspiration, which included Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1, and Kanneh-Mason’s arrangement of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry.”

Isata Kanneh-Mason is a postgraduate at the Royal Academy of Music with a rapidly growing career that has thus far seen performances at renowned venues in the United Kingdom and abroad, as well as numerous awards and television and radio appearances.
