The rich tradition of their Persian culture imbued Darioush and Shahpar Khaledi, passionate and longtime supporters of Festival Napa Valley, with the importance of art, wine, and hospitality as vital components of a life well lived and shared.

French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, who, over the past three decades, has built an unassailable reputation as one of the world’s top pianists, kicks off today’s occasion at Darioush with a private concert at the winery’s picturesque amphitheater. “Every note he fashions is a pearl…the joy, brilliance and musicality of his performance could not be missed,” hailed The New York Times about this extraordinary artist.

The afternoon continues with a gourmet luncheon, served family style under the pistache trees overlooking rolling vineyards, and prepared by the talented Estate Events at Meadowood. Of course, this magical day would not be complete without the crown jewel of the estate—lucky guests will be treated to glasses of Darius II, an intense but elegant and age-worthy, limited production Cabernet Sauvignon.

Joyeux Anniversaire
A celebration for Stéphane and Åsa Denève
6:30 PM
La vie est belle at Bouchaine, the host of tonight’s celebratory dinner. Joyeux Anniversaire commemorates the 10th wedding anniversary of Åsa and Maestro Stéphane Denève, who became engaged during Festival Napa Valley’s inaugural season and married – at Bouchaine Vineyards – the season after.

As it was in 2007, Siegfried Idyll, Richard Wagner’s intimate and delicate birthday gift to his wife, will be performed live. A chamber orchestra featuring musicians from the Festival Napa Valley Music Academy Orchestra performs in honor of the couple’s first decade together.

The oldest vineyard in the Carneros District—where the confluence of maritime breezes and fog means that it produces some of the region’s finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir — Bouchaine is the result of Gerret and Tatiana Copeland’s 33-year labor of love. Tonight they invite guests to salute the power of love, in all the forms it may take.
