The Australian-American lyric soprano Danielle de Niese
, whose voice The New York Times
called “seductive enough to woo gods as well as mortals,” joins the Brazilian baritone Paulo Szot
for a concert on the estate's beautiful new Redwood Lawn.
An international star who made her Metropolitan Opera debut at 19 in The Marriage of Figaro,
de Niese will sing arias and songs, as well as duets with Szot, who received a Tony for his portrayal of Emile De Becque in the Broadway revival of South Pacific
at Lincoln Center. Star power plus a gourmet feast prepared by Meadowood's exceptional culinary team and paired with fine wines from Chateau
Boswell, Williams Selyem, PlumpJack, Realm Cellars, and Domaine Carneros — Festival Napa Valley starts off with a bang.
Concert is part of the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Vocal Arts Series
