Laura Hamilton is Principal Associate Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, where she was the Nathan Milstein Scholarship recipient.
During her 29-year tenure with the MET Orchestra, she has led hundreds of performances, including many of the popular Live in HD videocasts such as those for Carmen, Parsifal, Turandot, and Faust. Prior to the MET Orchestra, Hamilton was a member of the Chicago Symphony performing solo under the baton of Sir Georg Solti. She is currently on faculty at the New York University Steinhardt School.
