Nino Machaidze, Andriana Chuchman Among Highlights of 2019 Festival Napa Valley

The Festival Napa Valley has revealed its 2019 slate. For the purposes of this article, we will highlight the vocal showcases.

Things get started with a concert that features Francesco Demuro and Nino Machaidze, both performing operatic favorites with the Festival’s Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra.

Performance Dates: July 12, 2019

Audiences will get a chance to witness a performance of John Musto’s “Bastianello,” which will be performed at the Castello di Amorosa. The one-act satire is based on an Italian folktale and sung in English.

Performance Dates: July 16, 2019

The company will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with “Song to the Moon,” a concert that will feature soprano Andriana Chuchman and the Festival Orchestra NAPA. The concert will not only feature the famed “Song to the Moon” from “Rusalka,” but also Holst’s “The Planets” and Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra.”

Performance Dates: July 20, 2019

Other highlights of the festival include a concert performance of “Star Wars: A New Hope” and a private evening with “Patti Lupone,” among others.
